The Opal Rainforest Schmetterling pair wil be for my sister-in-law.
The concept of this cable is stepping away from only crossing knit stitches. It gobbles up yarn, unbelievable. But I like the very textural effect. It needs a heavier yarn with more drape. Cashmere/wool, wool/silk, merino. Crossing 2x 7 or 8 stitches is not really easy.

I think we can crack this one. Looks to me like a big fat cable over 14 or 16 stitches. One cable is purled and sometimes comes out as knit.
One of the cables is purled.....

When I saw this purple KidSilk Haze, I could not leave it in the store....I did cast on for another Birch (Rowan magazine # 34), but ripped all of the 299 (two hundred and ninety nine) cast on stitches to start this one. The Elaborated Print 'O The Wave is a Heirloom Knitting pattern. It has always mesmerized me whenever I flip through the pages.
Eunny Jang's version has a knitted border. I intend to teach myself that.
